(Candidate Release) - As a candidate for Dare County Commissioner - District 4, I want to advocate the creation of a “Hatteras Island Emergency Management Advisory Council.” This advisory council would consist of 7 individual members representing each of the 7 unincorporated villages of Hatteras Island . The function of the advisory council will be to work in conjunction with the Dare County Control Group whenever hurricane evacuation plans are being developed, put into action and finally, when re-entry is being considered for Hatteras Island.
