Outer Banks, NC ~ Anyone can enter to win fantabulous prizes by submitting photos of their Outer Banks Beach vacation to the OBX Photo Contest (you do not have to be a Village Realty guest to qualify). 

Last year's Grand Prize Winner was Shelly Varias (Chesterfield, NJ) who submitted this photo (along with several others) of her husband and son that she captured on the shores of the oceanfront in Corolla while on vacation.

Shelly won a free week (off-season, which is anytime between October-April) in a Village Realty beach house, but she had already planned her vacation with her parents and sister's family to come for their annual week in August, so she asked to have the prize value credited to her peak-season rental cottage located in The Currituck Club.

"Heaven on Seven", is a gorgeous five-bedroom luxury home that Shelly says has, "even more amenities than I could imagine!" including 10 bicycles and beach toys, which she was delighted not to have to rent separately.  While they could have made the trip during the off-season from their home state of New Jersey, it has become a family tradition in the last four years to come to the Outer Banks in August, when Shelly's parents celebrate their anniversary and her sister's birthday the same week.

The 2011 OBX Photo Contest currently has over 1,500 photos submitted in various categories.  The Grand Prize Winner of this year's contest will win an week in a Village Realty rental cottage (off-season), a gas card and a grocery gift certificate.  There are similar prizes for first and second runners-up, as well as individual prize winners in each of 12 categories.  Be sure to submit your photos for a chance to win by clicking this link and upload your favorites!   Contest Ends:  September 23, 2011.

It could happen to you! 

Shelly is not a professional photographer but said she's rarely in her family photos because she's the one with the camera.  This week the family has enjoyed driving off-road on the 4-Wheel Drive beachfront in Carova, visiting "Bunkers Grille" at the Currituck Clubhouse, swimming in their pool and enjoying beach walks in the evening.  All ten guests are looking forward to a Jet Ski rental outing and the Wild Horse Tour later this week.  Shelly says the Outer Banks will be her family vacation for years to come, as they have found it's the best value for their dollar compared to New Jersey beaches and Hilton Head, South Carolina where they used to go.
