Nags Head beach at 6:00 p.m. today. Is it just a matter of time before the big blow washes away every grain of sand that was placed on the beach last summer at a cost of $36,000,000? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, Nags Head's 16 cent tax increase, in order to pay for this sand, has cost every muncipality in Dare County lost revenues and resulted in the necessity for them to increase their ad valorem taxes in order to keep their budgets in tack. So, who's the winners? |
