Dems' Outspending Reps' for State Seats

Up to date reports filed with the North Carolina Board of Elections show that candidate Paul Tine (D) is outspending his opponent, Mattie Lawson (R) in the race for the NC District 6 House of Representatives seat by a margin of nearly 4 to 1. Both candidates are seeking their first term of office.

The records of "receipts and expenditures", available at this Internet site, show that, as of their Third Quarter Report,  Tine has spent $143,284.32 to Lawson's $37,089.25.  Details of each candidates' receipts and expenditures can be seen by clicking above.

For the NC District 1 Senatorial seat, incumbent Stan White (D) is outspending his opponent, Bill Cook (R) by a margin of nearly 5-1. White's expentures as of the Third Quarter Report total $243,510.24 to Cook's $51,303.80.
