Semans Ross is Front Runner for District I Commissioner Seat

Sandy Semans Ross of Stumpy Point, an Unaffiliated candidate for the District I board of commissioners' seat in Dare County, has hit the ground running since qualifying as an official write-in candidate. The three-way race also consists of incumbent Richard Johnson (R) and Alfred Jackson (D), who reside in Manteo.

Semans Ross, was a clear winner in a recent EyeonDare pre-election poll where 53% of 175 respondents chose her over Jackson (32%) and Johnson (13%).  Semans Ross has also captured the attention of the Dare County Tea Party and has been invited to be guest speaker at their weekly meeting on Thursday. The meeting is open to the general public and will be held at La Fagota's Restaurant, Kitty Hawk, NC from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.  (details below)
