Broughton's photo, submitted in the "Village Realty Shout Out" category, depicts two cousins kicked back in beach chairs after finishing a shell art creation on the beach. Broughton said the kids filled their buckets with shells all week, and then enjoyed putting them to good use for a little Village Realty promo. "Their hard work paid off," said a judge with Village Realty. "Cute kids and a great shout out."
As winner in the category, Broughton received $100 toward a stay in a Village Realty Outer Banks vacation rental home in 2011 or 2012.
The 2012 Outer Banks Photo Contest will begin in April and will run through the end of September. The contest is for amateur photographers only; no professionals allowed. No purchase is necessary to enter. Go to www.obxphotocontest.com for details.
