Description: The Outer Banks suffered damages from Hurricane Sandy and our community will come together to restore the beach and help our neighbors in need.
The National Park Service has partnered with the National Day of Service to do a beach sweep for the Coquina Beach Day use area on Bodie Island. We need to show the shore some love after Hurricane Sandy and get it ready for the warmer months!
The Beach Food Pantry in Kitty Hawk also suffered damages due to Hurricane Sandy. After restoring their building the Beach Food Pantry needs help filling the shelves. This is the busiest time of the year; the Outer Banks has an annual unemployment rate of 20% from January to March and a lot families rely on the Beach Food Pantry.
