What...When...Where...The 2nd Outer Banks Parenting Expo is coming up next month - FEBRUARY 16th! This event was a great success last year and provided families with an opportunity to explore many of the resources available to families here on the Outer Banks. The Expo will take place at the YMCA in Nags Head on Saturday Feb. 16th. There will have over 30 informative booths, 3 speakers, and free childcare!
WHO...Outer Banks Mommy and Me NEEDS YOU! There are many different ways you can help make this day a smooth success. Please consider volunteering a couple of hours of your day to help set up on Friday evening or be available to help answer questions, translate, or clean up on Saturday! Tasks are listed with descriptions below and on VolunteerSpot. Check it out and see what talents you can share with us.Volunteers on Saturday will be provided with a t-shirt (email {laura.thornbrough@gmail.com} your desired size) and the option of a boxed lunch ($9.70).We're using VolunteerSpot to organize volunteer tasks for the upcoming Parenting Expo:

Here's how you can help: Setting up for Expo Event (Friday evening: 7:00-8:30pm)We will need volunteers Friday evening to help set up tables & chairs, hanging banners, duct taping down extension cords, etc. in the YMCA gymnasium for exhibitors.Working Mommy & Me Table (9:00-12:00 or 12:00-3:00)This table will be located outside of the entrance to the gymnasium where all of the exhibitors will be set up. Responsibilities will involve greeting guests, taking raffle tickets, providing information about Mommy & Me.Carseat Check in Parking Lot (9:45-12:30 or 12:15-3:00) This job will entail being on hand in the parking lot with the Nags Head Fire Department to provide general information and guidance to guests. Floaters (9:45 - 12:30 or 12:15-3:00) This job will entail walking around the entire Expo area providing general information and guidance, answering questions and making sure guests are comfortable. Spanish Translator (9:45-12:30 or 12:15-3:00) This job will entail being on hand for our Spanish speaking guests to help guide them around the expo and serve as a translator when needed. Working in Speaker Room (11:45-1:30 or 1:15-3:00) This job will entail manning the speaker room, answering questions for guests, providing general information and guidance as needed, and being able to help the speaker with any needs he/she may have. Clean-up after Expo (3:00-4:00pm) This job will entail helping us break down all of the tables & chairs and load them back into the van, bag linens, and collect and dispose of trash.
