Muller/Tine Political Duo Interesting?

Bob Muller (D)
Political ties between former Nags Head mayor, Robert Muller (D) and Nationwide Insurance Agency owner Paul Tine (D) appear somewhat curious when one examines Tine's campaign finance reports as filed with the North Carolina Board of Elections. Muller is running for the Dare County Board of Commissioners District 2 seat against Robert Woodard (R). Tine is running for the NC House of Representative District 6 seat against Mattie Lawson (R).  Tine lives in the gated community of Martin's Point where million dollar homes abound. Muller, a retired postal clerk, lives in a modest home in Nags Head Cove.

What makes this so curious, asks EOD? After all, "politics does make strange bedfellows".

Paul Tine (D)
Organization reports, reflecting the initial donors to Tine's campaign show that Muller contributed $1,000 to help get Tine up and running, as if Tine really needed financial help from Muller in the first place, due to the fact his initial contribution report of $22,779 was made up of  $1000+ donations from contributors mostly from Tine's gated community of Martin's Point, with a few Southern Shores backers thrown in. Then, of course there is the usual sprinkling of the "same ole good boys" usually found on most Democrat campaign finance reports in Dare County.

Still, EyeonDare finds the Tine/Muller relationship interesting, and further explains why EOD was quick to notice (before Hurricane Sandy blew them away) that Tine/Muller (and White) signs were always clustered together on the roadway and outnumbered most others by at least a 3-1 margin.

So, what's ahead for Dare County if this duo wins election? Who knows? But, like most politicians in the Land of Beginnings, EOD will trust them about as far as he can see them. Nuff said.
